I graduated from East Carolina University December 2007. GO PIRATES! I recently received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Reading from Grand Canyon University. I believe learning never ends, so I take it upon myself to continue going to professional developments and learn the latest research-based teaching practices.

My internship was in a Third Grade classroom. After graduating East Carolina, I began my teaching career at Ayden Elementary in Ayden, North Carolina, where I taught Third Grade for two and a half years. My husband received orders, and we moved to South Carolina where I taught Fourth Grade. We made the move back here to Jacksonville, and I was fortunate to begin working in Onslow County as a Reading Remediation tutor, and later, hired as a second grade teacher. After a couple of years at my previous school, I had an opportunity to come to Carolina Forest International Elementary. I couldn't pass it up! I am so thrilled to be working with this amazing team this year, and hopefully, many years to come!

I was born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in South Florida. I moved to North Carolina to go to school at East Carolina University. I have been married to my husband for 6 years, and we have a little boy named Joel, and a sweet Labradoodle named Ellie. In my free time, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and searching Pinterest for the next craft/activity I want to do for my house or classroom!

I feel blessed to have a career that I absolutely love! I could not see myself doing anything else.
