I attended UNC-Greensboro freshman year of college before transferring to East Carolina where I earned my Elementary Education Bachelors with a minor in American Sign Language and a concentration in Child Studies in 2005.

I returned to ECU for my Master of Arts in Reading education which I earned in 2010.

I am currently enrolled at UNC-Wilmington (Go Seahawks!) and will finish my Masters in School Administration in December.

I taught second and first grades in Lenoir County at Southeast Elementary School my first two years.

I taught second grade in Pitt County at WH Robinson, Ridgewood, and Lakeforest Elementary schools for five years. Here I was a mentoring teacher, clinical (supervising) teacher for ECU students, a trainer for Read3D and SIOP, and on the PTO.

I taught second, third, and fifth grade (Language Arts) in Carteret County at Newport Elementary School for four years.

I am AnnA Day, this is the beginning of my 12th year in education. I am very excited to be in a new roll at CFIE as a reading specialist. I just moved to Jacksonville in August with my dog, GiGi. GiGi is a 10 year old Sheltie who still has as much energy as she did as a puppy. I love to read! I spend all summer reading books, mostly fiction but occasionally a good historical book.

I am excited to get to know the staff, students, and parents at CFIE this year!
