I trust we are all enjoying the break. Please note that next weeks homework and focus is posted. Students will be given the vocabulary words on 4/9/2018. For the 4th nine weeks, we will be focusing only on vocabulary (words used in context).

I hope you are all off to a great start for the weekend. I am happy to report our class was declared winner for the diabetes fundraiser; we are being awarded a pizza party 3/29/2018:) I am looking forward to the coming school week.

Happy Friday!!!!!

I hope we all had a productive week!!!! Our trip to White Oak High for the symphony went well. Our kids worked very hard this week, and I am very pleased with their efforts:)

Just a couple things to note for the upcoming weeks:

March 12-16 is the Paper Sneaker Drive to support Dylan's Diabetes Destroyers & Juvenile Diabetes (JDRF).  Your child will be able to purchase a paper sneaker from for $1.  4Welsh would like to support in a BIG way! Make as many purchases as possible.

 

March 19-24, 2018......3rd Benchmark window (4Welsh Math on 3/19/2018)

Feb. 13, 2018.............Spring Dance 3:15 - 4:30....prompt pick up please.

March 7, 2018...........Symphony Trip.....White Oak High School 10:15 - 2 pm. 

                                Return permission slip by Feb. 16, 2018.

UPDATE:

  • This week is SOUPER BOWL WEEK at CFIE; food donations needed.
  • Valentine Dance and permission slip were sent home last Thursday....Please check your kiddo.
  • GIRLS ON THE RUN (girls) and STRIDE (boys) flyers were sent home Friday....Please check your kiddo.
  • Most students completed their benchmarks last week; the rest will do so during this week.
  • 2nd Nine weeks report cards will go home Thursday Feb. 1, 2018.
  • Awards is set for Thursday Feb. 8, 2018 at 9:30 in the multi-purpose room.
  • Awardees are students who receive As and /or Bs in all subject areas (80 - 100)

As usual, please ensure your child completes his/her homework/assignments daily. Also, laptops must be fully charged for school use.

 

Monday, January 29th - Friday, February 2nd

 Get ready! It’s time for our CFIE SOUP-er Bowl Food Drive!

 Our school is collecting the following nonperishable food items. All items are used for our “Backpack Buddies” program, which benefits families in our school community.

Spaghetti Macaroni & Cheese                Juice Boxes

Spaghetti Sauce                                  Cereal                          Spaghettios/Ravioli

Peanut Butter                                     Pop Tarts                       Granola Bars

Jelly                                                   Oatmeal                        Fruit Cups

The class the brings in the most donations will earn 10 Eagle Feathers and an ice cream party! There will be prizes for the 5 students who bring in the most donations, too!

I hope you all enjoyed the break:), and looking forward to a wonderful, bright and prosperous year. We will be back on track from the get go on Wednesday January 3, 2018. As usual, I will keep everyone in the loop on a weekly basis. Information pertaining to focus and assignments are posted on my webpage (school) and also in your child's OneNote.

 

Reminders:

Each student must have an earbud or headphone for school (daily).

Laptops must be brought to school fully charged and ready for use daily.

Homework must be done when given......(every effort is encouraged and appreciated)

Always encourage our kids to be respectful of self and others:)

  • School Dance.......Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017 (3:15-4:30). Permission slips and money ($1) due no later than 12/11/2017 at 8:00 am.
  • Tutoring 12/11/17 & 12/13/17.........Resume January 8, 2018.
  • Wednesday Dec. 20, 2017 we go off for Christmas break.....(we are having movie day in class....contributions of cookies, snacks and juices are needed/greatly appreciated).
  • Wednesday Jan. 3, 2018 students return from Christmas break.
  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember that laptops must be charged at home daily and be ready for school the next day....

Good Afternoon,

Please be reminded of our International Holiday Fair today from 5-7 pm.....Come out and enjoy yourselves with the kids, here at school. Pancake dinner, silent auction and more.

My laptop has been worked on, and so there are a few adjustments and nik naks to get accustomed to. Focus & homework for next week can be viewed in the respective area on my webpage.

NOVEMBER 20 & 21, 2017  

Greetings,

Just touching base before we go off for Thanksgiving. Please note, there will be no homework or after-school tutoring for Nov. 20 & 21, 2017. Regular schedule resumes Nov. 27, 2017. International Holiday Fair will be on Friday Dec. 1, 2017 from 5-7 pm and 2nd Nine Weeks Interim Reports will be sent home on Dec. 7, 2017.

We will be having an in-class Thanksgiving celebration (food sharing & movies) on Tuesday Nov. 21, 2017. Contributions of snacks and treats are needed and welcomed:)

 

Remember, there are so many things to give thanks for. All the problems and challenges we face are there to reveal our true strengths, and help shape our characters. I am exceedingly thankful for the opportunity to work with your awesome kids. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and be blessed:)

Good Afternoon,

Next Monday at 9:30 am in the multipurpose room, we will be having our 1st nine weeks awards ceremony. Students who have a achieved grades of 80% and above  in all subjects will be awarded. Please show your support:)

 

I sent home info re: collection of Candy man orders, and also letters indicating students selected for tutoring starting next week. Homework and focus schedule for next week is posted in the relevant areas (website and student OneNote).

I hope you all had a productive week, and looking forward to a restful weekend. We had a good week here at school, and accomplished all our goals. The trip to the museum was interesting, and the kids enjoyed themselves for the most part.

 

Please note that I am not able to send out emails this weekend or post work to my students, because my county assigned laptop has been infected, and no information can be accessed!!!!!:( It will not even open for me!!!!! I am locked out!!!!! Check out info posted in homework and weekly focus for this week on this site......It is the best I can do for now.

It has been great so far in 4Welsh. Our children have been working very hard, and are very supportive of each other. Just a few things to note for this week:

For parents who were unable to attend the 1:1 sessions held last week, I sent home two (2) documents to be signed and returned tomorrow (9/11/2017); these documents are laptop related.

Laptop fee is $25.00 for the year (cash or check accepted).

Please check FOURTH GRADE SET-UP, to see percentages assigned for the subjects.

Please check HOMEWORK & WEEKLY FOCUS to see what our kids will be doing this week.

Two sessions offered 5-6:00 and 6-7:00pm.   This is an information night and opportunity for parents to learn about the OCS 1:1 Initiative, complete required paperwork, pay tech fee and pose questions. Student devices will not be deployed during Thursday’s Information Night.
